THE DOCTRINE OF THE SCRIPTURES

What We Believe and Teach About the Holy Bible

1/2/2023

We believe and teach that the Bible, made up of 66 books (39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament books), is inspired and revealed written Word of God to mankind, equally in all parts and without error in its original manuscript and in all matters with which the Scriptures deal.

We hold the Bible to be absolutely infallible, and to be the complete and final authority for faith and conduct. It is our source of supreme revelation from God, superior to conscience and reason, though not contrary to reason, and therefore, it is our infallible rule of faith and practice.

We also believe in dual authorship of the Bible—that the Bible is authored by God through men. Human authors were under the superintending guidance of the Holy Spirit to ensure that they wrote precisely what He wanted to be written, without error or omission.
