About the Plan of

SALVATION

Salvation is a major theme in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. It is God's plan to provide all people from all the nations of the world with an escape from sin and death. The Bible reveals this plan. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to die in our place. This is why we call it salvation—by doing that, God saved us from the punishment and death we deserve.

The Bible clearly says that every person who ever lived in this planet earth is a sinner (see Romans 3:23). It teaches that sin results from disobeying God's commands—for example, lying, cheating, stealing, fornicating, committing adultery, murder, and being jealous of other people. It also teaches that sin separates us from God since God is holy and sin and holiness cannot coexist.

It also says that the punishment for sin is death for everyone (Romans 6:23)—and for that, those who hear God's plan of salvation must respond. As the Bible reveals, the appropriate response is to repent of all sin (see 2 Corinthians 7:10) and to have faith in what God has accomplished through His Son Jesus Christ (see 2 Timothy 3:15 1 Peter 1:9).

The Lord Jesus Christ satisfied God’s justice by dying for all—He paid in full the penalty for our sins on the cross of Calvary. Because of Jesus' death on the cross, every man, woman, boy, and girl can be saved from death and eternal separation from God. As the Bible says, we must believe and confess that Jesus is the Lord of our lives (see Romans 10:8-10). If we do that, we can have a personal relationship with God and spend eternity in heaven with Him.

Coming to Jesus Christ for salvation is a personal thing. It is a simple matter of substitution: God’s Son for your sins. Therefore, don’t make it difficult for yourself. Take the simple steps outlined below and it shall be well for your soul. You will receive salvation today. As Prophet Isaiah said, Seek the Lord today and now while He may be found, call upon Him for help while He is near (Isaiah 55:6). Tomorrow may be too late. Salvation is free.

• First, we must acknowledge that we are sinners—that we are lost and need to be saved (see Romans 3:23-25).

• Second, we must acknowledge that we cannot save ourselves—that we need a Savior (see Ephesians 2:8-10).

• Third, we must realize that there is a penalty for our sins (see Luke 13:3; Romans 6:23).

• Fourth, we must confess and repent of our sins (see Acts 17:30, 31; 20:21; 1 John 1:9).

• Fifth, we must confess and believe in Christ Jesus as the only way of salvation (see Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10).

• Sixth, we must receive Christ into our lives by faith to obtain forgiveness and eternal life (see John 1:11, 12; 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9).

• Seventh, we must follow Christ wholeheartedly—that is, commit ourselves completely to knowing, loving, and serving Him for the rest of our lives (see Luke 9:23; Philippians 3:13-14).
